The One Where I Start a New Diet

Well, folks, you've found yourself reading yet another blog entry on the good ole internets. I'm glad you're here because I love the attention. ;) I feel like updating a blog on the regular will keep me honest and always learning.

Neato Keto is probably somebody else's idea, but I thought of it today and felt pretty clever (cuz rhymes and things). I should also mention that I'm not a doctor or a nutritionist. Anything on here is purely my opinion and personal experience.

From my extensive (internet) research and informative friend, I've learned that a ketogenic diet offers a variety of health benefits. I know you're already thinking that I'm falling victim to another trendy diet, but I trust this friend and the majority of a Friday night spent researching that this is a good thing.

Basically, you eat a diet high in fat (think good, clean fats, not ice cream and pie), moderate in proteins and low in carbohydrates. This means I'm getting my carbohydrates from tasty veggies rather than the really starchy (albeit tasty!) foods I used to eat by the pound.

I spent most of Saturday sleeping and watching Netflix. But when I got bored, I planned a week of 3 square meals a day for my boyfriend and myself. Sunday I shopped and prepped a lot of the meals. I hesitated to go too far in advance because I have a "thing" with food getting "old" when it really isn't. I think I ate some bad chicken once upon a time.
